Design Your Evening
Ayurveda-Workshop with Kari

Do you wake up feeling not fully rested, lacking in energy and tired? Maybe you were even in bed for 8 hours, but the sleep wasn’t deeply nourishing so you hit the snooze button a few times and drag your feet out of bed in the morning?
How are you going to kick ass in your job, as a parent or follow your dharma if you feel tired all day? Getting enough sleep matters. A lot! Inadequate sleep is associated with low-grade chronic inflammation, weight gain and obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Too little sleep impairs our ability to think, handle stress, maintain a healthy immune system and moderate our emotions. It can also worsen depression and anxiety symptoms. The stakes are pretty high to be well rested!
What we do the night before can set us up for an awesome night sleep where we wake up psyched to start our day and pursue our passions or a morning where we literally drag ourselves from one task to the next – depending on what we do in these precious hours after dusk. In this 2.5 hour workshop based on the 5000 year old healing system of Ayurveda, we will go over creating an evening routine that allows us to tap into our fatigue and surrender to it. We will discuss how food impacts sleep, the optimal time and type of food to eat as our last meal, what activities are best for night time and which may be negatively impacting our sleep. The course involves group-based discussion, reflective worksheets and a light yoga practice perfect for the evening time.
